History

The Mohegan Pequot Model Railroad Club was established  in 1980, and incorporated in 1987.  The home base for club operations is in and around the Groton/New London area of southeastern Connecticut.  The club has taken its name from the Mohegan-Pequot Bridge that carries Rte. 2A over the Thames River near the Mohegan Sun casino.  The group used this name because the early club members had to travel over the bridge to meet each other in the early days of the club.  The club is in no way affiliated with the local Indian Tribes.
