The Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum Spring Train Show was
held on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at the Windham High School in Willimantic,
Connecticut. We loaded the HO modules at the Woodworkers Warehouse store in
Norwich on Wednesday and set up at the high school on Friday night, April
16, and
were ready to operate that evening. The HOn3 crew shook their modules on
Sunday morning and an operating layout magically sprang into shape. The show
was relatively quiet and relaxed since Sunday was a very nice day. At
the show we learned that Frank Johnson, a long-time dealer at Willimantic
and other shows that we attend, died of cancer about two weeks before the
show. Frank hand-made very nice brass HO signals. He built them with various
target shapes and numbers of lights.
