Description:
The Marysville module consists of one 6’ long by 30” wide module. Its
purpose is to form the center of the “Pennsy Corner” on our HO Modular
layout, between Jim Spavins’ Rockville Corner Module (Which connects to his
Rockville Bridge and Stu Dom’s Yard), and the corner module which forms the
end of Me and Dad’s new “DeLany” yard. The track plan consists of the two
main line tracks, as well as the third inside track, which serves as the
yard lead between Stu’s Yard and the DeLany yard. The most important
feature of this module is the crossovers, which allow access to both main
line tracks from the yard lead, allowing trains to enter and exit the DeLany
Yard. This makes the yard double ended, instead of the stub end yard used
on most modular layouts.
From a
scenery perspective, the module forms a scenic link between the DeLany Yard,
and the rural Rockville Corner and Rockville Bridge. Main features include
a road which runs from front to rear of the module on a bridge over the
tracks, with a large warehouse (The Centennial Modules Marysville PA Outlet
Store) on the right side of the module, and a road leading to the autorack
unloading facility located on the Delany Yard Corner on the left. It will
also feature a detention basin, which outlets to a stream running under the
mainline tracks on the left side of the module, and a wooded area along the
rear of the module. A classic Pennsy Signal bridge will guard the
crossovers, and a small knoll along the front of the module will provide
some elevation for aesthetics. |
