The 9th Hole

The Ninth Hole.

Built in the early 2000s, Don Wiwczar created a 2′x4′ module representing a par 3 golf hole.  The module was based on a golf hole located on a golf course in southern Rhode Island.  The golf hole was a dogleg with the hole located below the tee boxes with a steep rock face along the right side of the fairway.  All the rocks were hand made by forming Sculptamold to the desired shapes and profiles.

The module was designed to be set up next to his son’s Old Saybook, CT, module and included some modern touches like concrete ties on the mainline trackage.  A small bridge carried the mainline over the golf cart path at the front of the module.  This module was a show stopper and has been placed into a state of semi-retirement.
